Anandita Sundar, making her debut as a creative producer with the film Double Occupancy releasing today, describes the experience as both challenging and exciting. Reflecting on her first venture, she says, "My parents (Kushboo and Sundar C) treated this as my learning process, as did I. I knew there was a lot I had to learn, and I tried to be as hands-on as possible."
She adds, "Towards the end, I wasn't able to be on set a lot because while we were wrapping up Double Occupancy, we were also starting Meesaya Murukku 2. So, I had to juggle my time between both."
The Core Concept of Double Occupancy
Describing the film's central idea, produced by her mother Kushboo under Avni Movies along with ACS Arun Kumar of Benzz Media, Anandita explains, "It's a complete fantasy film — about a man who biologically turns into a woman every single day. It's an exciting, fresh concept. The film has love, friendship, family and grief. There's so much in the film that people can connect to."
What Drew Her to the Project
Elaborating on her attraction to the project, she says, "I liked the fact that it had sci-fi and fantasy elements, and yet it was set in a normal world. The actual conflict of the film had to do with the emotions of the four central characters and how their lives get entangled in a mess. It's an extremely unrelatable story that's been crafted into a really relatable film."
