Akshay Kumar, who returned to television earlier this year as the host of the Indian version of Wheel of Fortune, recently got emotional as the show nears its end. The finale episode, set to air on April 27, will feature Farah Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Bhumi Pednekar.
The makers shared a new promo on their official Instagram handle, where Akshay is seen getting emotional after receiving a heartfelt message from the show’s team.
Fun and Banter with Farah Khan
The promo starts on a hilarious note as Akshay and guest Farah Khan indulge in playful banter. Farah offers him a quirky gift: a pressure cooker filled with cash, joking, “Ismein tere liye wohi laayi hoon jo tu khaata hai” (I’ve brought exactly what you like). As soon as Akshay opens the pressure cooker, he bursts into laughter.
Farah Khan then recalls a funny memory of choreographing Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. She jokingly refers to them as “Nanavati and Leelavati” and adds, “Dono lagg rahe the hospital ki drip lagake dance kar rahe hain” (They looked like they were dancing with a hospital drip). Farah's comments leave Akshay in splits.
The fun doesn't end there. Akshay and Farah jokingly reveal each other’s past relationships and playfully call their films Tees Maar Khan and Joker pranks on each other.
Emotional Tribute
After all the fun, Bhumi reveals that Wheel of Fortune is coming to an end. She shares that the team has put together a special tribute for Akshay. The video montage highlights some of the show’s most memorable moments, along with a heartfelt message: “Kal se yeh manch nahi hoga, lekin aapki muskurahat yaad rahegi, aapki sharartien, nadaaniyan aur shaitaaniyan yaad rahengi. Aap yaad rahenge...” (From tomorrow, this stage won’t be here, but your smile, your mischief, your naughtiness will be remembered. You will be remembered...).
The video leaves Akshay emotional. He is seen moving behind Farah Khan to wipe his tears. Reflecting on his journey, Akshay shares that the show wrapped up 65 episodes with close to 200 contestants taking part. He adds, “Mere mama bhi aaye hain, inhone ek bhi show miss nahi kiya. Mujhe batate hain, beta 9 baj jaata hai main dekhne aata hoon show. Thank you, India, for loving this show.” (My maternal uncle is here too—he hasn’t missed a single episode. He tells me, ‘Son, it turns 9 o’clock and I come to watch the show.’ Thank you, India, for loving this show.)
Wheel of Fortune aired its first episode on January 27, 2026, and marked Akshay Kumar's comeback on television.
