The box office juggernaut Dhurandhar, headlined by Ranveer Singh, continues its historic run, achieving a monumental milestone by crossing the Rs 700 crore mark in worldwide collections. On its fourteenth day in theatres, the film has solidified its position as a record-breaking phenomenon, already shattering an impressive 25 box office records and setting its sights on surpassing Aamir Khan's blockbuster PK.
A Record-Shattering Two-Week Run
As per data from trade tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar added an estimated Rs 23 crore to its kitty on its second Thursday (Day 14). This has propelled its domestic net collection to a staggering Rs 460.25 crore. The film's global earnings have now soared to Rs 702 crore, making it the second biggest Hindi grosser of 2025, trailing only behind Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava.
The Aditya Dhar-directed venture has been on an unprecedented record-breaking spree since its release. It has now set a new benchmark as the highest-grossing film for both Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar. Furthermore, it stands tall as the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film of the year 2025.
The Long List of Broken Records
The film's performance has been extraordinary across all metrics. Here are some of the key records it has claimed:
- Biggest opening weekend for Ranveer Singh (Rs 103 crore nett).
- Biggest opening week for Ranveer Singh (Rs 207 crore nett).
- Biggest second week ever for a Hindi film (Rs 253 crore nett).
- Only Hindi film to earn over Rs 200 crore in its second week.
- Biggest second weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a Hindi film.
- Record-breaking daily collections from Day 7 through Day 10.
Notably, it has also secured the second-highest opening and subsequent daily numbers for an A-rated Hindi film, only behind the mammoth figures set by Animal.
The Road Ahead: Can Dhurandhar Overtake PK?
The next major target for Dhurandhar is to surpass the lifetime worldwide collection of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's PK, which stands at Rs 792 crore. Given its current momentum, trade analysts believe this milestone is within reach by the end of its theatrical run. Domestically, the film is also poised to overtake Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, which collected Rs 525 crore nett in India in 2023.
However, the path ahead is not without challenges. Dhurandhar now faces its toughest competition yet with the wide release of James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash. The previous Avatar film opened at Rs 40.3 crore in India in 2022 and went on to earn Rs 391 crore domestically. The survival and sustained collections of Dhurandhar in its third week will depend on its ability to withstand the Avatar wave.
Additionally, the release calendar remains crowded. While Dinesh Vijan's Ikkis has been postponed to January, Karan Johar's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is scheduled for a Christmas release on December 25. The industry and fans alike will be keenly watching to see if Dhurandhar can maintain its record-breaking momentum in the face of this fierce competition.
