Director Vinayan Remembers Child Star Taruni Sachdev

Director Vinayan recently shared his personal memories of child artist Taruni Sachdev. The young actress played Prithviraj's daughter in Vinayan's film Vellinakshatram. Taruni first entered Malayalam cinema through Vinayan's movies Vellinakshatram and Sathyam.

A Wonder Child Who Shocked Everyone

Vinayan posted an old photograph from the sets of Vellinakshatram on social media. He wrote a touching caption about the talented young actress. "Taruni acted in my film Vellinakshatram when she was just four years old," Vinayan recalled. "That same year, she also appeared in Sathyam. Prithviraj played the hero in both films."

The director described Taruni as a wonder child with remarkable acting charm. He noted how she amazed everyone with her natural talent. Tragically, Taruni passed away in a helicopter accident in Nepal in 2012. She was only fourteen years old at the time. Her mother Geetha also died in the same crash.

Taruni began her acting career through advertisement films. She was merely four years old when she performed in Vellinakshatram. The song "Kukkurukuru Kukkurukkan" from that film remains popular with children today. With just one movie, Taruni achieved significant popularity. She quickly became a favorite among families and young audiences.

Short Life, Lasting Impact

Taruni Sachdev was born on May 14, 1998 in Mumbai. After Vellinakshatram, she appeared in numerous other films. Director R. Balki later cast her in the Amitabh Bachchan film Pa. In that movie, she played Amitabh's friend.

Her final film was the Tamil thriller Vetri Selvan, released in 2014. Taruni had completed most of her important scenes before her untimely death. On May 14, 2012, Taruni was traveling with her mother from Pokhara to Jomsom in Nepal. They boarded an Agni Air Dornier 228 aircraft for the journey.

The plane crashed during the flight, claiming both their lives. Approximately twenty passengers died in the tragic accident. Their bodies were transported to Mumbai and cremated on May 16.

Vinayan's Recent Success

Vinayan's most recent directorial venture was Pathonpatham Noottandu. The film became a superhit and received rave reviews from audiences. Critics praised the movie's powerful performances and compelling storytelling.

The film featured strong performances from its entire cast. Siju Wilson delivered an epic performance as Velayudha Chekavar. Kayadu Lohar portrayed Nangeli with genuine emotion and depth. Vishnu Vinay also impressed audiences with his role as Kanna Kurup.
