Social Media Confusion Over Super Bowl Halftime Show Child Identity
During Sunday's electrifying Super Bowl halftime performance, a heartwarming moment between global superstar Bad Bunny and a young boy captured the world's attention. However, this touching scene quickly became mired in misinformation as social media users incorrectly identified the child.
The Viral Misidentification
Numerous posts across platforms falsely claimed that Bad Bunny had handed his Grammy award to Liam Conejo Ramos, the 5-year-old boy who, along with his father, was recently detained by immigration officials in Minnesota and held at an ICE facility in Texas. This emotional narrative spread rapidly, tapping into ongoing conversations about immigration policy.
The truth, however, was quite different. The boy featured during the halftime show was actually Lincoln Fox Ramadan, a 5-year-old child actor from Costa Mesa, California, according to his verified Instagram profile.
The Actual Halftime Show Moment
After Bad Bunny completed his performance of "NUEVAYoL," television cameras captured Lincoln watching as the artist accepted his Grammy for Album of the Year from the previous week's ceremony. In a symbolic gesture, Bad Bunny then walked over and presented what appeared to be a Grammy award to the young boy.
Lincoln's Instagram account later described the experience as "an emotional, unforgettable day being cast as the young Benito - a symbolic moment where the future hands the past a Grammy." The post continued, "A reminder that dreams come true and it's never too early to dream big."
Lincoln's Message of Solidarity
In a touching display of empathy, Lincoln used his platform to acknowledge the confusion and express support for the actual Liam Ramos. In his caption, he wrote that he was "sending love to Liam Ramos" and emphasized that "we all deserve peace and love in America, a country built by and home to so many hard-working immigrants."
The Real Liam Ramos Situation
Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Conejo Arias (originally from Ecuador), were indeed detained by immigration officers in a Minneapolis suburb on January 20. They were transported to an ICE detention facility in Dilley, Texas, before being returned to Minneapolis on February 1 following a judge's order.
Images of immigration officers surrounding the young boy wearing a blue bunny hat and Spider-Man backpack had previously sparked significant outrage regarding immigration enforcement practices.
Lincoln Fox Ramadan: The Actual Child Star
Lincoln, the child actor who actually appeared with Bad Bunny, comes from a diverse background, being half Egyptian and half Argentinian according to his social media and acting profiles. His previous professional experience includes modeling work for major retailers Walmart and Target.
The confusion appears to have originated from a now-deleted tweet that claimed, "Many of you may have missed this, but the little boy who Bad Bunny handed his Grammy to at the Super Bowl was Liam Ramos!" This misinformation spread rapidly before being corrected.
Bad Bunny's Historic Grammy Achievement
The Grammy that Bad Bunny presented during the halftime show commemorated his historic Album of the Year win for "DeBI TiRAR MaS FOToS," marking the first time a Spanish-language album has ever received the Recording Academy's top honor. The Puerto Rican superstar has now won six total Grammy awards, including three at the 2026 ceremony.
Representatives for Bad Bunny did not respond to requests for comment regarding the mistaken identity situation. The incident highlights how quickly misinformation can spread during major cultural events, even when the actual facts are readily available.
