Sunil Grover Embraces Simplicity in New Instagram Video
Actor and comedian Sunil Grover recently showcased his down-to-earth side by sharing a video on Instagram where he is seen washing clothes at a roadside hand pump. Dressed in a casual light pink T-shirt and black sweatpants, Grover rolled up his sleeves and got to work with a bucket of clothes by his side.
A Glimpse into Grover's Simple Life
In the clip, Grover is observed diligently washing his garments before using the hand pump to rinse his face. He kept the post caption-free, letting the visuals speak for themselves, but added the classic Hemant Kumar song Na Tum Hamen Jano from the 1962 film Baat Ek Raat Ki as a nostalgic background score.
This is not the first instance of Grover embracing simplicity. Last month, he posted a video of himself sitting on the floor and making rotis on a traditional chulha (clay stove). In that footage, he kneaded dough, shaped perfectly round rotis, and roasted them over an open flame, captioning it with a playful "Friends Roti kha lo ...".
Sunil Grover's Career Highlights
On the professional front, Sunil Grover is currently featured in The Great Indian Kapil Show, which streams on Netflix. His journey in entertainment began during college when he was discovered by the late satirist and comedian Jaspal Bhatti.
Grover gained widespread recognition through his roles in popular comedy shows. He starred in India's first silent comedy series, Gutur Gu, in its initial 26 episodes, and made his television debut with Chala Lallan Hero Banne in the 2000s. His breakthrough came with Comedy Nights with Kapil, where he became famous for characters like Gutthi, Rinku Bhabi, and Dr. Mashoor Gulati, and for mimicking Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan.
After leaving Kapil Sharma's show, Grover returned to television with Kanpur Wale Khuranas, hosted by Aparshakti Khurana. Although the show had a plot similar to The Kapil Sharma Show, it was short-lived and soon went off air.
Ventures into Film and Web Series
In 2016, Sunil Grover expanded his career into the Punjab film industry with Vaisakhi List and portrayed Shraddha Kapoor's father in the Bollywood film Baaghi. More recently, in 2021, he took on dramatic roles in web series, playing Gurpal Chauhan in the political drama Tandav, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and others, and Sonu Singh in the thriller Sunflower, for which he lost nearly 8.1 kilograms.
Through his social media posts and diverse career, Sunil Grover continues to connect with audiences by blending humor with heartfelt moments of simplicity.
