Earlier, on the talk show, Saif Ali Khan had provided a detailed narrative of the traumatic event. He mentioned that the household had retired late, around 2 am. The crisis began when a maid alerted him, saying in Hindi, "There's someone in Jeh's room. He has a knife in his hand, and he says he wants money."
Acting instinctively, Saif rushed into his son Jeh's room and confronted the intruder. A fierce struggle ensued. "He had two knives and he started slashing all over me. I tried to remember my training and blocked a couple of them. But then I felt a thump in my back that was really hard," the actor recounted. The fight continued until other family members and help arrived.
He credited their domestic help, Gita, with saving his life. "Gita, our help, she helped me in this struggle and pushed the guy off me, and pretty much saved my life at that point, because he had cut me everywhere," Saif stated. The assailant was subsequently locked in a room before authorities were involved.
