A New Year's Eve celebration for popular singer-composer duo Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur turned into a frightening ordeal in Balurghat, West Bengal. Following their performance on December 31, 2025, the couple found themselves trapped in their vehicle as an overenthusiastic crowd surrounded them, leading to a chaotic scene where the car's rear windshield was shattered.
Panic Inside the Vehicle as Crowd Turns Aggressive
A video that later went viral on social media captured the tense moments from inside the car. The clip shows fans pressing dangerously close to the vehicle. While Sachet initially waved at the crowd, the mood shifted abruptly when loud banging sounds were heard on the car.
Startled by the sudden noise, Sachet reacted with visible shock. Parampara Thakur was seen repeatedly appealing for calm, asking people outside to step back. However, the situation escalated quickly, and within seconds, the rear windshield gave way, shattering into pieces. The duo was left visibly shaken as their security team struggled to control the unruly mob.
Duo Shares New Year Wishes, Skips Incident Comment
Despite the disturbing incident, Sachet and Parampara have not released any official statement directly addressing the Balurghat episode. Instead, they chose to share a New Year greeting with their fans on social media.
They posted a video from their concert and wrote, "Happy New Year to all our dear people who stood by us! May 2026 be extraordinarily good and healthy for all of you. Mahadev Sabki Raksha Karein." The message was accompanied by religious hashtags, making no mention of the frightening conclusion to their New Year's Eve event.
Incident Occurs Amid Ongoing 'Bekhayali' Credit Dispute
This unsettling event comes at a time when Sachet-Parampara are already embroiled in a public dispute with composer Amaal Mallik over the credits for the hit song 'Bekhayali' from the film Kabir Singh.
The duo recently released a video accusing Amaal Mallik of making misleading claims about the song's creation. They stated that the allegations had affected their mental peace and professional reputation. According to them, 'Bekhayali' was composed entirely during creative sessions with the Kabir Singh team, including director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and actor Shahid Kapoor. They also claimed that Amaal suggested his earlier work might have been shared with them without his knowledge.
Demanding accountability, Sachet-Parampara called for a public apology. In response, Amaal Mallik denied any attempt to claim credit for the song. He stated he never claims ownership of others' work and questioned why the matter was being debated publicly instead of through legal channels.
The Balurghat incident adds another layer of stress for the musical pair, highlighting the intense pressures and unexpected dangers that can accompany fame in the public eye.
