However, the initiative encountered significant hurdles during the COVID-19 pandemic, which impeded its initial rollout and forced a strategic pivot.
During this challenging phase, the team innovatively explored a prototype model utilizing inflatable screens and mobile traveling tents to bring films directly to villages. This experimental period provided invaluable insights and practical lessons through hands-on execution, revealing several areas for enhancement. These iterative experiences and adaptations ultimately culminated in the development of the current, more sustainable permanent Ekal Hub theatre model, designed for long-term impact in rural Maharashtra.
