Prashant Tamang's Sister Shares Heartfelt Grief Over Brother's Demise
Anupama Gurung, the sister of late actor and singer Prashant Tamang, expressed deep sorrow following her brother's passing on January 11. She spoke about the immense respect and fame he earned during his lifetime.
Global Outpouring of Condolences
While discussing the singer's final rites in Darjeeling, Anupama Gurung revealed they have been receiving condolence messages from Prashant Tamang's fans worldwide. She emphasized that nothing can compensate for this loss.
"You should know how much respect my brother earned and how much fame he achieved," Anupama told ANI. "Wherever he is, his name will live on forever. People worldwide are messaging and calling us and expressing their grief."
Final Journey and Tributes
The actor's mortal remains arrived at Bagdogra airport in Siliguri on Monday morning. BJP MP Raju Bista from Darjeeling and numerous prominent figures from the entertainment community gathered to pay their final respects.
Later, the remains were taken to his Darjeeling residence, allowing fans to offer their last tributes today. Prashant Tamang hailed from West Bengal's Darjeeling and passed away at his Delhi residence on Sunday.
Official Investigation Details
ADCP South-West Delhi, Abhimanyu Poswal, provided official updates about the death. He confirmed receiving an MLC from Mata Chanan Devi Hospital at 3:10 PM, declaring Prashant Tamang dead.
"An Investigation Officer visited there and received the MLC," Poswal stated. "Crime team and FSL team reached the residence of the deceased and collected evidence."
The body has been sent to DDU hospital for postmortem examination to determine the cause of death. His wife and daughter lived with him, and his wife brought him to the hospital. Her statement has been recorded.
"It will be tough to point out anything suspicious until the final postmortem report comes," Poswal added.
Family Clarifies Death Circumstances
Addressing speculation about his sudden death, Martha Aley clarified that no suspicious circumstances were involved. She described it as a natural death.
"It was a natural death. He was in his sleep when he left us. I was right beside him at that time," Martha Aley said.

Prashant Tamang rose to fame as the winner of Indian Idol Season 3. He established himself firmly in the music industry and successfully ventured into acting. He famously appeared in 'Paatal Lok Season 2' and was expected to feature in Salman Khan's upcoming film, 'Battle of Galwan'.
