Mona Singh Reveals She Advised Gaurav Gera to Keep 'Dhurandhar' Role Under Wraps
In a recent interview, actress Mona Singh shared an amusing anecdote about her colleague Gaurav Gera's excitement upon landing a role in Aditya Dhar's highly successful 'Dhurandhar' film franchise. Singh disclosed that she had to intervene and counsel Gera to maintain secrecy about his character, emphasizing the importance of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and professional discretion.

Speaking with India Today, Mona Singh recounted how Gaurav Gera was "super excited" after securing a part in the Ranveer Singh-led 'Dhurandhar' movies. She noted that this project marked a significant comeback for Gera, who had been waiting for a breakthrough opportunity for nearly a decade and a half. "He was doing a project after a really long time. I think he waited for it for almost 10–15 years to break through with 'Dhurandhar'," Singh explained.
The NDA Reminder and Professional Advice
Singh described how Gera enthusiastically began sharing details about his character's looks and development arc. "He was very excitedly sharing his looks and telling me about his graph, and I looked at him and was like, 'Hello, do you remember you have signed an NDA?'" she recalled. Gera responded by saying he was only telling her, but Singh firmly advised against it, stressing the need to respect both the legal agreement and the creative process.
Drawing from her own experience, particularly from her debut show 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi', where her identity was kept confidential, Singh emphasized the value of patience. "My identity and everything were under wraps, and I wasn't in a hurry to tell people... I knew there's going to be a makeover, and I knew there was going to be a time when people would know who I am," she stated.
She ultimately told Gera, "So that’s what I was trying to tell him—calm down, hide those pictures, and do not post them anywhere."
