Newcomer Medha Rana has captured audience attention with her heartfelt performance in the patriotic drama Border 2. In a revealing interview, the actress shared her deeply personal connection to the film and the emotional rollercoaster of her casting experience.

The Unforgettable Casting Moment

Recalling the pivotal day when she learned about her selection, Medha described a process that felt almost surreal. "I went through multiple audition rounds, at least two or three during the initial phase," she explained. "After clearing those, I was called for a meeting with Mukesh Chhabra sir, the celebrated casting director, alongside our director Anurag sir."

During that fateful meeting, both industry veterans congratulated her on being selected for the film. "I remember that day with absolute clarity," Medha confessed. "When I went to meet them, I could hardly believe what was happening. The news felt completely unreal, and I became so emotional that I ended up crying right in front of them."

A Personal Connection to the Story

What makes Medha's involvement in Border 2 particularly meaningful is her family background. "I come from an army family," she revealed with evident pride. "My family has served in the Army for three consecutive generations. For us, it's a tremendous honor that I received the opportunity to participate in a project of this magnitude."

The actress emphasized how deeply the film resonates with her personal history. "This movie holds extraordinary significance for me personally. Being part of this project represents the greatest honor of my life, and I will remain forever grateful for this experience."

Finding Comfort with Co-Star Varun Dhawan

Medha also opened up about working alongside established star Varun Dhawan, who played a crucial role in helping her overcome initial anxieties. "Working with Varun was a fascinating experience," she shared. "He proved to be an incredibly sweet, kind, and supportive co-actor throughout our collaboration."

Remembering her first day on set, Medha admitted, "When I initially arrived on set, I felt extremely nervous and intimidated. However, Varun made certain that I felt completely comfortable and at ease in that environment."

She particularly appreciated his down-to-earth nature, noting, "He possesses this wonderful quality where you never feel like you're interacting with a celebrity. He naturally makes everyone around him feel comfortable and normal, and he extended that same warmth and consideration toward me."

About Border 2: A Patriotic Ensemble

Border 2, which premiered in theaters on January 23, draws inspiration from authentic events during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. The film powerfully depicts how the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force united as a single, formidable force during this historic conflict.

The movie marks Sunny Deol's return to military uniform, continuing his association with patriotic roles. The ensemble cast also features Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh in significant lead roles, creating a powerful cinematic tribute to India's defense forces.

Medha Rana's journey from audition rooms to sharing screen space with established stars represents a significant breakthrough in her emerging career, made even more meaningful by her personal connection to the film's military themes.
