Two of Malayalam cinema's legendary actors, Mammootty and Mohanlal, are set to share the screen in the upcoming spy action thriller, 'Patriot'. As the film approaches its theatrical release, the makers have unveiled a new song titled 'Manushyan'.
'Manushyan' Song Brings a Mysterious Tone
The lyrical video of the song exudes a mysterious vibe. It primarily captures Mammootty traveling with his cap on, delivering a monologue rather than singing. The vocals are handled by Shakthisree Gopalan, whose voice is soft and smooth. The music is composed by Sushin Shyam, with lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar. Overall, the song feels simple yet meaningful.
Director Mahesh Narayanan and Mammootty have stated in multiple interviews that the story is the real hero of the film. Despite the reunion of Mohanlal and Mammootty, the promotions have remained low-key. Interestingly, the song was not shared by the official pages; instead, Sushin Shyam directly posted it online.

Apart from Mammootty and Mohanlal, 'Patriot' boasts a strong supporting cast including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy in crucial roles. The trailer already hints that each character plays a key part in the narrative.

Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the story revolves around a retired JAG officer, played by Mammootty, who is falsely accused of espionage and embarks on a covert mission to clear his name and protect the nation. The film is scheduled for a grand release on May 1.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal was last seen in 'Vrusshabha', while Mammootty's recent outing was 'Kalamkaval'.
