Keerthy Suresh left audiences spellbound with her portrayal of legendary actress Savitri in the biographical drama 'Mahanati'. As the film is set to complete eight years on May 9, 2026, the actress reflected on how profoundly the role impacted her.
Keerthy Suresh on 'Mahanati'
According to a report by Moneycontrol, Keerthy Suresh shared that the role was unlike any she had taken before. She said, "It would definitely have to be Mahanati. It was a very different role, and I had to completely immerse myself in the character. At one point, I was so deeply involved in the role that I almost lost myself in the character."
She elaborated on the immense effort and emotion she poured into the performance. Many viewers felt that she did not simply act as Savitri but truly lived the role on screen. That natural and heartfelt performance is a key reason why the movie still feels fresh and emotionally resonant even after many years.
For those unaware, 'Mahanati' marked a turning point in Keerthy Suresh's career. The role earned her widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics, and she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her work in the film.
