Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff on Tuesday celebrated the birthday of veteran star-politician Mithun Chakraborty as he turned 76 and also remembered legendary singer-composer Hemant Kumar on his 106th birth anniversary.

Jackie shared a picture of Hemant Kumar on his social media stories with the song "Yeh Raat Yeh Chandni" from the 1952 film "Jaal" starring Dev Anand and Geeta Bali. For the caption, Jackie simply wrote: "Remembering Hemant Kumar Ji on his birth anniversary."

Hemant Kumar was an Indian music director and playback singer, known for his work in Bengali and Hindi film music, Rabindra Sangeet, and various other genres. He received two National Awards for Best Male Playback Singer and was popularly known as the "Voice of God."

In 1989, Hemant fell ill after returning from a concert in Dhaka and died shortly after due to a massive cardiac arrest.

Jackie then shared a video collage of Mithun with the song "I Am A Disco Dancer" playing in the background, adding just a red heart emoji to wish the veteran star.

The 76-year-old star has had a flourishing career in Hindi cinema for over five decades, showcasing his prowess in about 350 films. Mithun made his acting debut in 1976 with the art house drama Mrigayaa by Mrinal Sen, for which he received his maiden National Film Award for Best Actor.

The actor shot to major fame with films like Disco Dancer, Agneepath, Pati Patni Aur Tawaif, Gunahon Ka Devta, Roti Kee Keemat, Trinetra, Shatranj, Tadipaar, Jung, Kaalia, Daadagiri, Guru, My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, Housefull 2, The Tashkent Files, and The Kashmir Files.

The television show Dance India Dance, where Mithun was the Grand Master, also entered the Limca Book of Records and the Guinness World Records.

Mithun's latest release is The Bengal Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri. It presents a storyline focused on the Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots, depicting the violence and its aftermath as a genocide.
