Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal: A Love Story Forged on Set and Strengthened Through Adversity

Popular television actress Hina Khan and her husband, actor and producer Rocky Jaiswal, first crossed paths on the sets of the long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai back in 2009. After a courtship spanning nearly a decade and a half, the couple finally tied the knot in a private ceremony in June 2025. In a special Valentine's Day conversation, the pair reflected on how their bond has deepened and transformed over the years.

A Double Celebration of Love on Valentine's Day

Coincidentally, Rocky's birthday falls on February 14th, making Valentine's Day a particularly significant date for the couple. Hina expressed her joy, stating, "It's a double celebration of love with the love of my life. Throughout the year, he has looked after me, so I am on a mission to make him feel special on his birthday." She added with a touch of playful sentimentality, "But there's just this one day where every girl wants to feel special; it may be childish, but I like celebrating Valentine's Day. Rocky makes sure that the whole year is filled with love."

Evolution of Togetherness After Marriage

Discussing the shifts in their relationship post-marriage, Hina revealed a change in her own perspective. "Before marriage, I always said that I needed my own space, but it has changed for me. Now, we want to spend more time together," she explained. In contrast, Rocky's outlook has remained steadfast. "I've always wanted to be close to her. In the beginning, you think life is precious, so you want to spend more time. Later, you realise what makes life precious, and you simply want to be around that, and for me, that's her," he shared, highlighting the constancy of his devotion.

The Unplanned, Simple Wedding of Their Dreams

Contrary to the lavish affairs often associated with celebrity weddings, Hina and Rocky opted for a quiet, intimate ceremony. The actress disclosed that very little was pre-planned. "Everyone saw the best decor, mehendi artiste and wedding outfit, but there was nothing like that. Two-three days before the wedding, there were no elaborate arrangements," she said.

She described how elements serendipitously fell into place. "Things came together slowly. I met Manish Malhotra for an event fitting, and he got to know I am getting married, and that's how he decided to design my wedding outfit. Originally, we were supposed to sit on a couch and sign the papers, but a lot of people and things came together, and it just aligned perfectly to make our wedding memorable."

Rocky echoed this sentiment, noting, "We didn't have a dream wedding in our minds, but it all just happened. Hina is in a profession where, out of 2,000 episodes, she was a bride in about 1,500. So we decided we would have a simple wedding."

Deciding to Marry After Nine Years and Facing a Health Crisis Together

When asked about their decision to marry after dating for nine years, Hina revealed it was her initiative. "It was me who said let's do it now," she admitted. Rocky's response was profoundly simple: "In my head, I have always been married to her."

The couple's bond was put to the ultimate test in 2024 when Hina was diagnosed with breast cancer. She opened up about Rocky's unwavering support during her battle. "The storms in our life will not determine our love for each other. We love each other, no matter what. We are together in good and bad times," Hina stated emphatically.

Rocky, characteristically humble about his role, said, "It is the most normal thing anybody can do," downplaying his steadfast presence during her treatment and recovery. This shared experience of adversity has only solidified their commitment, proving that their love story, which began on a television set, is built on a foundation of mutual respect, simple joys, and resilient partnership.
