Govind Namdev's Dating Rumors Clarified

A photograph of Govind Namdev with actress Shivangi Verma once circulated online, sparking rumors of a romantic involvement. In June 2025, Namdev addressed these speculations during an interaction with ETimes. He clarified that the photo was part of a promotional strategy for their film 'Gaurishankar Goharganj Wale'.

Namdev explained, "Shivangi insisted that we should have a romantic pairing, that the images needed to convey a certain chemistry. I agreed but also asked what kind of content she had in mind. She said, ‘There’s a lot. Content matters most.’ I thought, 'Fine, let’s do it.' But then, without informing me, she went ahead and tagged the film in a certain way. That’s where the misunderstanding started." This incident underscores the often-misinterpreted nature of promotional activities in Bollywood.

Unfair Treatment in Bollywood: Namdev's Stark Revelations

In an interview with Lallantop, Govind Namdev delved deeper into the systemic inequalities within the film industry. He stated, "There is a major system of big and small stars, people function as per hierarchy, in terms of salaries and treatment in the film industry." The veteran actor elaborated on how this hierarchy manifests in practical terms.

He shared, "If someone gets paid more, that person will get a huge vanity van, that’s how it is decided. Food hierarchy also exists on film sets. The stars have different foods, and others eat different food items."
