Eurovision 2026: Australia's Go-Jo Jokes About Austria Confusion

The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 continues to capture global attention with unexpected headlines. As the musical competition kicked off in Vienna, Australia made a special guest appearance, playfully acknowledging the common confusion between Austria and Australia. Go-Jo, the Australian singer whose song 'Milkshake Man' was an entry in 2025, joined the hosts on stage. Entering alongside Austrian presenters Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski, the singer quipped, 'I was actually supposed to go home to Australia, but instead I landed in Austria because some idiot confused Australia with Austria,' according to ABC.

When in Eurovision, Do as International Contestants Do

When Swarovski inquired about the differences between the two nations, the trio launched into a performance showcasing their polar-opposite cultures. The song, titled 'Opposites,' included lyrics such as, 'Spiders, snakes and shark attacks. Australia would kill me,' before adding, 'Your desserts, they cause heart attacks, and winter sports don't thrill me.' Calling for a response from the enthusiastic crowd, a kangaroo mascot joined the trio on stage as the music continued, 'I say kanga, you say roo!'
