Celebrities Grace 29th Mumbai Flower Show, Applaud Musical Floral Creations
Veteran actor Ranjeet, actress Varsha Usgaonkar, and film and television actor Ekta Jain made special appearances at the 29th Mumbai Flower Show held at Veermata Jijamata Udyan in Byculla. The three-day exhibition, organized by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), took place from February 6 to 8 and attracted massive crowds with its innovative and artistic floral arrangements.
BMC's Annual Floral Extravaganza Draws Enthusiastic Response
Jeetendra Pardeshi, Superintendent of Gardens at BMC, expressed gratitude to the celebrity guests for their participation. He warmly encouraged citizens to visit the exhibition with their families before its conclusion on Sunday, highlighting the unique experience it offers.
This annual event, running for nearly three decades, features a distinctive theme each year. The 2024 edition was centered around "musical", showcasing breathtaking floral replicas of various musical instruments. A special floral tribute was dedicated to the legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, adding an emotional touch to the display.
International Collaboration and Green Initiatives
In a significant international partnership, the BMC collaborated with Japan this year to promote Japanese bonsai plants at the exhibition. This initiative aligns with broader environmental goals, as BMC officials recently visited Japan to exchange knowledge on plant cultivation techniques. The collaboration gains further importance with Green Expo 2027 scheduled to be held in Japan.
Celebrity Reactions and Personal Connections to Gardening
Ranjeet shared his deep affection for flowers and plants, revealing, "I have a deep love for flowers and plants. I grow vegetables, flowers, and plants on my terrace at home. The way musical instruments have been created using flowers this year is truly amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition."
Ekta Jain commended the BMC's longstanding efforts in organizing the flower show and mentioned her own home gardening practices. She emphasized that the musical theme is "absolutely worth watching" and urged people to visit the exhibition to experience its beauty firsthand.
The event successfully blended celebrity appeal with community engagement, promoting horticultural appreciation and international environmental cooperation through its creative and thematic floral displays.
