Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Presents Prestigious Awards
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was warmly welcomed by Indian sporting icons Leander Paes, Bhaichung Bhutia, and PT Usha at the awards ceremony. The CM took center stage to present several key awards, starting with the Mentor of the Year award to 1996 Atlanta Olympics tennis bronze medallist Leander Paes. The women's cricket team, led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, received the Best Team trophy from Chief Minister Adityanath for their World Cup victory. The Federation of the Year Award was presented to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), with Rajeev Shukla accepting the honor on behalf of the cricket body. Uttar Pradesh received the State of the Year Award for its continuous promotion of sports, accepted by Sports Secretary Suhas LY, who has been instrumental in developing sporting infrastructure in the state.
In individual categories, Indian professional shooter Samrat Rana was awarded Sportsperson of the Year (male), while para-athlete Sumit Antil received Para Sportsperson of the Year (male) for his javelin throwing prowess. Sheetal Devi was honored as Para Sportsperson of the Year (female), showcasing the remarkable achievements of para-athletes on the national stage.

In the prestigious 'Athletes Who Shaped Indian Sports in Last Decade' category, Leander Paes and Bhaichung Bhutia honored a distinguished group including table tennis star Manika Batra, gymnast Deepa Karmakar, javelin thrower Sumit Antil, hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, sports administrator Suhas LY, shooter Avani Lekhara, para-athlete Deepa Malik, and wrestler Sakshi Malik. Badminton champion Saina Nehwal felicitated men's badminton mainstay Lakshya Sen, passing the torch to the next generation of sporting excellence.
