Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha Honoured with Jharkhand's Top Legislative Award
The Jharkhand Legislative Assembly has chosen Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Dhanbad, Raj Sinha, as the recipient of the prestigious Best Legislator Award for 2025. The distinguished honor will be conferred upon him during the Vidhan Sabha's silver jubilee celebrations on November 22.
Selection Process and Ceremony Details
A special selection committee headed by Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto finalized Sinha's name for the award during their meeting on Wednesday. According to an official communication from the Vidhan Sabha, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will present the award to Sinha during a formal program marking the state assembly's foundation day.
The award includes a formal citation and a cash prize of Rs 51,000, recognizing Sinha's exemplary work as a legislator. The 64-year-old politician has been representing the Dhanbad constituency since 2014.
Recognition for Assembly Staff and Sinha's Reaction
In a separate decision, the selection committee also identified six assembly staff members across various ranks for their outstanding service. These employees will be felicitated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren and will receive cash awards of Rs 21,000 each.
Speaking to Times of India, an elated Sinha expressed his feelings about the recognition. "I feel elated with such recognition," the BJP legislator stated. "I dedicate this award to the people of Dhanbad which I have been representing since 2014."
