BHU Professor Honoured with Prestigious Buddhist Culture Promotion Award

In a distinguished ceremony held on Republic Day at Jan Bhavan in Lucknow, senior professor Siddharth Singh was honoured with the Buddhist Culture Promotion Award by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. The felicitation recognized his exceptional contributions to education, Buddhist studies, and the promotion of Indian knowledge traditions globally.

Academic Excellence and Leadership Recognized

Prof Siddharth Singh, who serves as a senior professor in the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and is currently the Vice-Chancellor of Nava Nalanda Mahavihara in Nalanda, was acknowledged for his remarkable academic leadership. The award, presented by the Uttar Pradesh Department of Culture, included a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a certificate of appreciation.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of scholars, academics, representatives from various cultural institutions, and dignitaries from across the country, highlighting the significance of this recognition in the academic and cultural spheres.
