According to a press communique issued by SKMU Public Relations Officer Deepak Kumar on Friday night, Vice-Chancellor Kunul Kandir experienced health complications on February 24, necessitating her immediate transfer to a private hospital in Ranchi. Subsequently, on February 26, she was airlifted to Hyderabad for advanced medical care, highlighting the severity of her condition.
University Operations Grind to a Halt
The sudden illness of the Vice-Chancellor has severely impacted the university's financial and administrative operations. Officials have reported that key processes are being disrupted, prompting calls for the Lok Bhavan to establish ad hoc arrangements to prevent further delays. This situation is compounded by the vacant position of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, following the completion of Bimal Kumar Singh's tenure, leaving a leadership void.
