Lucknow University Commences Undergraduate Admissions for 2026-27 Academic Session
Lucknow University (LU) has officially initiated the undergraduate admissions process for the 2026-27 academic session, starting on Friday through the Samarth portal. This centralized system aims to streamline the application procedure for prospective students across various courses.
Registration Process and Key Requirements
According to a notification issued by the university, applicants must first obtain a Lucknow University Registration Number (LURN) from the official website before proceeding to fill out the admission form. The registration fee is set at Rs 100. Candidates are required to create a login ID using a valid email address, provide personal details, complete their profile information, and make the payment via the designated gateway. Upon successful payment, the LURN number is generated, which is essential for all subsequent application steps.
Courses and Application Fees
The undergraduate programs offered include a diverse range such as BA, BSc in biology, BSc in mathematics, BCom, BCom honors, BBA, BCA, integrated LLB, BSc in agriculture, B Voc in renewable energy, yoga programs, and hotel management. The application fee for general UG courses is Rs 1200 for general, OBC, and EWS categories, while it is reduced to Rs 600 for SC, ST, and PwBD categories. For professional courses like BBA, BCA, BHMCT, and D Pharma, the fee is Rs 1500 for general, OBC, and EWS categories, and Rs 750 for reserved categories.
Admission Form and College Preferences
While completing the online admission form on the LU portal, students will have the option to select and rank their preferences for affiliated colleges and courses. This feature allows candidates to prioritize their desired programs and institutions, which will be taken into account during the merit-based seat allocation process. It is important to note that fee structures will not be uniform across the system, as each affiliated college maintains its own charges.
Deadlines and Official Statement
Colleges are still in the process of joining the centralized admission system, with the last date for inclusion fixed as May 31. LU spokesperson Mukul Srivastava emphasized, "After registration, candidates must fill the programme-wise form, upload necessary documents, check eligibility criteria, review all details, and submit the form. A printout of the final application form should be retained for future reference. The deadline for submitting online forms is May 31."
Additional Information
The admission process is designed to be transparent and efficient, leveraging the Samarth portal to facilitate a smooth experience for applicants. Prospective students are advised to complete all steps promptly to avoid last-minute issues and ensure their applications are considered for the upcoming academic year.
