Financial Support and Accommodation Details
Selected candidates will receive a generous monthly stipend of Rs 15,000 for the duration of the programme. Additionally, hostel and mess facilities will be available to participants on a paid basis, subject to availability. This financial support ensures that students can focus entirely on their research projects without financial constraints.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
The programme welcomes applications from students meeting specific academic criteria:
- Third-year undergraduate students pursuing BE, BTech, BSc Engineering, or three-year BSc programmes in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics
- Third or fourth-year students enrolled in integrated or dual degree master's programmes (ME, MTech, MSc)
- First-year MSc, MA, and MBA students with exceptional academic records
Important Note: Students currently enrolled at IITs are not eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.

Application Timeline and Procedure
The online application portal opened on February 2, 2026 and will remain active until March 2, 2026, at 5 PM. Applicants must submit complete applications with all required documents:
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Aadhaar card copy
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Bona fide certificate from current institution
- Consolidated academic mark sheets from Class 10 onwards
Important: Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No hard copies need to be submitted to IIT Madras. Applicants can review their submissions through the online portal using credentials sent to their registered email addresses.
