IIT-Bombay Unveils Largest Dining Hall, Named After Alumnus Dr Pramod Chaudhari
IIT-Bombay opens new state-of-the-art dining facility

In a significant boost to campus infrastructure, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-Bombay) has officially opened a brand-new, state-of-the-art dining facility. This modern hall now stands as the largest dining space on the entire Powai campus, offering students a contemporary venue for meals, social interaction, and relaxation.

A Legacy Gift from a Distinguished Alumnus

The ambitious project was brought to life through the generous philanthropic contribution of Dr Pramod Chaudhari, an esteemed alumnus and the founder and chairman of Praj Industries Limited. Dr Chaudhari, who once resided in Hostel 4 as an undergraduate student, has maintained a lifelong connection with his alma mater. In honour of his enduring commitment and support for the institute's growth, IIT-Bombay has named the newly reconstructed dining facility after him.

Transforming the Student Experience Beyond Classrooms

This initiative is a cornerstone of IIT-Bombay's broader agenda to transform the overall student experience. The institute is making substantial investments to create a holistic learning environment that extends far beyond academic buildings. The focus is on building a thriving campus community that is essential for personal and professional development.

Modern hostels, well-equipped dining facilities, and thoughtfully designed community spaces are considered critical components in this vision. They are designed to nurture student well-being, foster collaboration, and cultivate a strong sense of belonging among the student body.

Dr Chaudhari's Enduring Support for IIT-Bombay

Over the years, Dr Pramod Chaudhari has been an active and consistent supporter of IIT-Bombay. His contributions have advanced numerous initiatives aligned with the institute's mission of excellence in education, research, and innovation. His support has not only enhanced physical infrastructure but has also strengthened various programs that benefit the entire student community, reflecting his deep dedication to giving back to the institution that shaped his formative years.

The new dining hall, located within the currently under-reconstruction Hostel 4, represents a major milestone. It underscores IIT-Bombay's commitment to upgrading student amenities and providing a world-class living and learning atmosphere for its scholars.
