A significant initiative to boost entrepreneurship and create employment in the farming sector has been launched in Thiruvananthapuram. The College of Agriculture in Vellayani, in partnership with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) from Hyderabad, is organising a comprehensive 45-day training programme.
Programme Details and Key Objectives
This free training scheme, known as the Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres (ACABC) programme, is scheduled to commence on February 10. The core mission is to enhance entrepreneurial skills and open up substantial employment avenues within the agricultural domain. The programme is designed to equip participants with the practical knowledge and business acumen needed to start their own ventures.
Admission Process and Financial Benefits
Admission to this valuable training will be highly selective, with only 25 candidates being chosen based on a personal interview. The real incentive comes after successful completion of the course. Graduates will be empowered to avail of substantial bank loans to kickstart their enterprises.
Participants can secure loans of up to Rs 20 lakh for individual projects. For group ventures comprising five members, the funding support can go as high as Rs 1 crore, providing a significant financial springboard for agri-businesses.
