UPSC Reschedules CSE 2025 Personality Test to February 27 Due to Republic Day Rehearsal
UPSC Moves CSE 2025 Personality Test to February 27

The Union Public Service Commission has made important changes to its examination schedule. Candidates preparing for the Civil Services Examination need to take note of these updates immediately.

Personality Test Date Shifted

UPSC has officially rescheduled the personality test for CSE 2025. This change affects candidates who were supposed to appear on January 22, 2026, during the afternoon shift. The commission canceled that session completely.

The reason for this cancellation is straightforward. The full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day Parade 2026 requires the venue. Therefore, UPSC had to find an alternative date for these candidates.

New Examination Date

All affected candidates will now appear for their personality test on February 27, 2026. The test will take place in the forenoon shift. This gives candidates additional preparation time.

The commission began conducting personality tests for CSE 2025 on December 8, 2025. These tests represent the final stage before final selection. Earlier, on November 11, 2025, UPSC declared the CSE Main results. A total of 2,736 candidates qualified for the personality test round.

Essential Documents for Personality Test

Candidates must bring several important documents to their personality test. Forgetting any document could create problems during the verification process.

  • Supporting eligibility documents
  • Educational qualification certificates
  • Reservation category certificate if applicable
  • Community status proof
  • EWS certificate
  • PwBD certificate
  • Travel Allowance Form

Having these documents ready and organized will help candidates navigate the verification process smoothly.

CSE 2026 Notification Postponed

In a separate development, UPSC has delayed the release of notifications for two important examinations. The Civil Services Examination 2026 and Indian Forest Service Examination 2026 notifications will not appear as originally planned.

The commission had scheduled these notifications for January 14, 2026. However, administrative reasons forced a postponement. UPSC made this announcement through an official release on its website.

The commission stated clearly that both notifications have been postponed due to administrative reasons. The exact nature of these administrative issues remains unspecified. UPSC simply mentioned that the notifications will appear in due course.

What This Means for Aspirants

Such delays, while uncommon, do happen occasionally. They typically result from internal administrative clearances or finalization of vacancy details. Sometimes technical updates to the application portal cause similar delays.

According to UPSC's previously published Exam Calendar for 2026, the Preliminary examination for CSE 2026 was tentatively scheduled for May 24 to 31, 2026. Online applications were expected to open soon after the notification announcement.

With this postponement, aspirants must now wait for updated dates. The commission will announce the new notification release date and subsequent application window separately. Candidates should monitor the official UPSC website regularly for these updates.

The personality tests for CSE 2025 continue as scheduled for other candidates. Only those with January 22, 2026, afternoon shift appointments face this rescheduling. All other test dates remain unchanged according to the original schedule announced on December 2, 2025.
