In a significant move aimed at restoring faith in the recruitment process, the newly appointed Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prasant Kumar, has announced a strict zero-tolerance policy against any unfair means. The former DGP made this declaration on Saturday, emphasizing that complete transparency would be the cornerstone of the commission's functioning under his leadership.
A New Era of Transparency and Merit
Prasant Kumar stated that the commission's primary focus would be to ensure all selections are conducted with utmost integrity. He asserted that candidate selection in all forthcoming examinations would be based purely on merit, with no compromises. This approach, he believes, will ensure long-term benefits for all aspirants by creating a level playing field.
He further outlined that the UPESSC would direct its efforts towards completing all pending recruitment processes in a transparent manner. Important issues that have been causing delays will be addressed and resolved on a priority basis to expedite results for thousands of waiting candidates.
Addressing Pending Recruitments and Upcoming UP-TET
When questioned about the highly anticipated Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP-TET), scheduled for next month, Chairman Kumar revealed that the matter is under active discussion with commission members. He assured that a final decision regarding the exam would be made and announced at the earliest possible time.
Another critical issue brought before him was the stalled recruitment process for 910 assistant professor posts in government-aided non-government colleges across Uttar Pradesh. For these positions, where written tests have been conducted but interviews are still pending, Kumar promised a thorough probe. He clarified that the matter would be examined in detail before any conclusive decision is taken, ensuring fairness for all involved.
Technological Overhaul for Efficiency
In a bid to modernize operations, Kumar also shared updates on a new technological initiative. He mentioned that testing is currently underway for an online portal designed to streamline the collection of vacancy details from various state departments. This digital move is expected to enhance efficiency and speed up the entire recruitment lifecycle, from notification to final appointment.
The chairman's firm stance signals a decisive shift towards cleaner, more accountable, and candidate-friendly recruitment processes in Uttar Pradesh's education sector. Aspirants can now look forward to a system where merit and transparency are guaranteed.
