Simranpreet Kaur, the daughter of farmers from Birarwal village near Nabha in Patiala district, has secured an impressive All-India Rank 15 in the UPSC examination. Hailing from a rural background, she is the daughter of Kuldeep Singh and Amandeep Kaur, who are engaged in farming, cultivating potatoes and other vegetables. Her achievement has brought immense recognition and celebration to the village, highlighting the potential of rural areas.

Academic Journey and Preparation

Simranpreet completed her graduation and post-graduation in Political Science from Khalsa College in Patiala. During her college years, she decided to pursue a career in the civil services, driven by her aspirations to contribute to society. After her higher studies, she embarked on preparing for the UPSC exam, which marked her fourth attempt. In this attempt, she not only cleared the mains exam for the first time but also excelled in the interview, securing the 15th rank nationally.

Her preparation strategy involved online classes and guidance from a mentor based in Karnataka, coupled with a disciplined study schedule. She emphasized that this was her first interview appearance after successfully passing the mains, showcasing her resilience and dedication.

Inspiration and Aspirations

Coming from a farming family, Simranpreet's rural background significantly shaped her outlook. She expressed a strong desire to work for the development of rural areas and improve opportunities for people in villages. Her father, Kuldeep Singh, along with his brother Jagdeep Singh, is known in the village as a hardworking farmer, and their perseverance and support played a crucial role in her journey.
