NCERT: Remaining Class 9 Textbooks Ready by August, Two Books Awaited
NCERT: Remaining Class 9 Textbooks Ready by August

NCERT has announced that the remaining Class 9 textbooks—Mathematics and Part 2 of Social Science—will be available by August 2026. The organization has completed the rollout of almost all other school textbooks, according to an official statement.

Two Class 9 Books Still Pending

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) confirmed that while the majority of textbooks for the current academic session have been distributed, two Class 9 books are yet to be released. These are the Mathematics textbook and the second part of the Social Science textbook. The delay has prompted concerns among students and teachers who rely on the updated curriculum.

Timeline for Completion

NCERT officials stated that the pending textbooks are in the final stages of printing and will be dispatched to schools by August 2026. The organization has assured that all efforts are being made to minimize disruption to the academic calendar. “We are working diligently to ensure that the remaining textbooks reach students as soon as possible,” a NCERT spokesperson said.

Impact on Schools and Students

The delay has affected schools that have already started the academic session. Many institutions are using supplementary materials or older editions to bridge the gap. However, NCERT has advised schools to follow the syllabus outlined in the new textbooks once they are available. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also been coordinating with NCERT to align exam schedules with the textbook release.

Broader Textbook Rollout

NCERT has successfully rolled out textbooks for all other classes, including revised editions for Classes 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12. The organization has emphasized that the updated textbooks incorporate the latest pedagogical approaches and curriculum changes. The Class 9 textbooks are part of the final phase of this nationwide rollout.
