The third day of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 in Varanasi transformed into a vibrant carnival of learning and creativity for the city's youth. Organized by the National Book Trust (NBT), the event at Namo Ghat on Thursday successfully drew in more than 600 enthusiastic students from various local schools.
Puppet Show Brings Sardar Patel's Legacy to Life
The key highlight of the day was a special puppet show dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Staged by the Creative Puppet Theatre Trust of Varanasi and led by NBT's Mani Bhushan, the performance vividly portrayed the Iron Man's relentless struggle, dedication, and his monumental role in forging India's national unity. The show captivated students from several institutions, including Bal Vidyalaya (143 students), Dehradun School Varanasi (46), and Tridandi Dev Ved Pathshala (30).
Quiz and Reading Sessions Foster Cultural Awareness
Adding an element of friendly competition, Team NCCL conducted a quiz competition centered on the theme "Varanasi – A Heritage City." Students participated with great zeal through multiple rounds, gaining deeper insights into the historical, cultural, and spiritual tapestry of Kashi. Furthermore, a dedicated orientation session on ‘Reading and Publishing' introduced the young attendees to the joys of a reading culture, the fascinating world of books, and the basics of the publishing process. This initiative aimed to cultivate lifelong reading habits and potentially inspire future literary creators.
