In Kanpur, a significant number of students were absent during the second day of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) High School and Intermediate examinations held on Thursday. According to official data, a total of 260 registered candidates skipped their scheduled papers across both shifts.
Morning Shift Attendance Details
District Inspector of Schools, Santosh Rai, provided a breakdown of the morning session. He reported that 112 students were absent during this shift. Specifically, for the High School computer examination, out of 3,055 registered students, 2,972 appeared for the test while 83 remained absent. In the commerce exam, 694 out of 723 registered candidates turned up, leaving 29 absentees.
Afternoon Shift Figures
The second shift saw further absences. For the High School sewing paper, 99 students were present out of 102 registered, meaning 3 were absent. In the Intermediate section, the civics paper recorded 2,636 appearances out of 2,781 registered candidates, resulting in 145 students missing the exam.

Officials confirmed that the examinations were conducted peacefully across all centers in Kanpur district. The administration ensured proper arrangements and monitoring to maintain the integrity of the assessment process.
