Jharkhand ICT Championship e-Shiksha Mahotsav Begins

The vibrant spirit of digital learning took center stage in Ranchi as the much-anticipated state-level ICT Championship, the e-Shiksha Mahotsav, officially opened its doors on Thursday. This flagship event provides a crucial platform for students from classes IX to XII hailing from government schools across Jharkhand to display their prowess in digital technology, creativity, and innovative thinking.

A Platform for Young Digital Champions

The championship, hosted at the Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training (JCERT) in Ratu, Ranchi, brings together the district-level winners selected from competitions held earlier. A total of 192 digital champions from all districts of Jharkhand are participating in this grand state-level finale. The event is meticulously organized in four batches to manage the enthusiastic participation effectively.

On the inaugural day, the excitement was palpable as 96 students participated in the first two batches. The first session ran from 11 am to 12:30 pm, followed by the second from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The remaining two batches are scheduled for Friday at the same timings.

Rigorous Assessment of Digital Competencies

Participants faced a comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate a broad spectrum of their digital skills. The examination comprised 18 objective-type questions and 12 practical questions, challenging their theoretical knowledge and hands-on application abilities. Immediately following the test, a team of expert teachers began the meticulous evaluation process to identify the state's top performers.

The event saw the presence and encouragement of key education officials. Uma Shankar Singh, Secretary of the State School Education and Literacy Department, and Shashi Ranjan, Director of the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), graced the occasion. They interacted with the participants, praised their keen enthusiasm, and extended their best wishes for success in the competition and their future endeavors.

Building a Foundation for Digital India

The road to this state-level event began with district-level ICT Championship competitions conducted on November 18 and 19. The e-Shiksha Mahotsav is more than just a competition; it is a significant initiative to foster digital literacy and empower the youth of Jharkhand. Alongside the competing students, ICT instructors, teachers, and district representatives are also attending, making it a collective effort to celebrate and advance digital education in the state.

This two-day festival of learning and innovation underscores the government's commitment to integrating technology into the core of school education, preparing students to become proficient contributors to a digital future.
