The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced a second extension for the application deadline of the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2026. Aspiring students now have until January 16, 2026 to submit their online forms, but this final extension comes with an additional cost.
New Deadline and Revised Fee Structure
Initially set for December 30, 2025, the deadline was first pushed to January 6. In its latest move, the board has granted a further ten-day grace period, making January 16 the final date for registration. However, candidates availing of this extension must pay a late fee of Rs 1,000 over and above the standard application fee of Rs 350. This brings the total cost for late applicants to Rs 1,350.
Exam Details and Eligibility
The GUJCET 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on March 29, 2026. It is a mandatory entrance test for students from the Class XII Science stream seeking admission into:
- Degree engineering courses
- Degree pharmacy courses
- Diploma pharmacy courses
The exam is crucial for candidates belonging to Group A, B, and AB.
How to Apply and Pay the Fee
According to an official press release issued by the GSHSEB, all relevant details are available on the board's dedicated portal. Candidates can access the information booklet and application instructions on the official website: gujcet.gseb.org. Applications can also be submitted via the main board website at www.gseb.org.
The examination fee, including the late charge if applicable, can be paid through online modes such as credit card, debit card, or net banking via the SBI Epay System. An offline option, "SBI Branch Payment," is also available at any State Bank of India branch across the country.
Official Advisory to Stakeholders
The board has issued an advisory, urging all school principals, parents, students, and concerned parties to take note of this revised schedule and the associated fee details. This extension provides a final opportunity for students who may have missed the earlier deadlines to complete their registration process for one of Gujarat's key entrance examinations.
