Delhi Excels in CBSE Class X 2026 Results, Outperforming National Average
New Delhi has once again demonstrated academic excellence by surpassing the national average in the CBSE Class X results for 2026. With an overall pass percentage of 97.2%, the capital city comfortably exceeded the national average of 93.7%, reinforcing its reputation as a top-performing region in India's education landscape.
Regional Rankings and Performance Trends
In the regional rankings, Delhi West secured the fifth position nationwide, while Delhi East followed closely at sixth, placing both zones firmly among the country's elite performers. This achievement highlights the consistent academic strength across the capital.
The improvement in Delhi's results is particularly notable when compared to the previous year. In 2025, the overall pass percentage was 95.1%, which has now risen to 97.2%, marking a significant jump of 2.1 percentage points. This upward trend reflects sustained progress in educational outcomes.
Gender-Based Performance and Participation
Both boys and girls contributed to this success, though girls continued to outperform boys, maintaining a consistent gender-based trend. In 2026, the pass percentage for girls stood at 97.6%, compared to 96.8% for boys. This pattern mirrors the results from 2025, when girls recorded 95.7%, ahead of boys at 93.9%.
The scale of participation in Delhi remains substantial, with a total of 3.2 lakh students registered for the exam in 2026. This includes 1.7 lakh boys and 1.5 lakh girls. Of these, 3,14,562 students appeared for the examination, and 3,05,787 successfully passed. Among the successful candidates, 1,59,425 were boys and 1,46,362 were girls, reflecting strong outcomes across both gender groups.

A closer examination of regional performance within Delhi reveals impressive results for both zones. Delhi West recorded a pass percentage of 97.4%, with 1,31,548 students passing out of 1,34,989 who appeared. Meanwhile, Delhi East was not far behind, achieving a 97.3% pass rate, with 2,04,628 students passing out of 2,10,238 who appeared.
