A unique two-day program aimed at bridging social gaps through creativity was successfully concluded recently in Chandigarh. The initiative, organized by the non-governmental organization Cubs Club in partnership with a health service provider, took place at the Auditorium of the Government Art Gallery and Museum in Sector 10.
Governor Graces Concluding Ceremony
The culminating event of the program was graced by distinguished guests, highlighting its significance. Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, presided as the Chief Guest. Dr. Monica B. Sood, Convenor of the Intellectual Cell for the BJP's Chandigarh unit, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The event featured a felicitation ceremony and a vibrant showcase of cultural performances presented by students. The atmosphere was one of celebration and shared accomplishment.
Art and Performance as Tools for Inclusion
A core component of the initiative was an art exhibition designed to support underprivileged children. During the ceremony, several schools from the Tricity region of Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula were felicitated for their students' participation in this meaningful exhibition.
Adding a powerful dimension to the event, students from underprivileged sections of society themselves took to the stage. They confidently showcased their talents through various cultural performances and engaging storytelling sessions, receiving appreciation from the audience.
Founder's Vision for a Unified Platform
Explaining the core idea behind the event, Meenu Prashar, the founder of Cubs Club, stated that it was conceptualized to create shared creative and cultural platforms. The goal was to bring together children from both privileged and underprivileged backgrounds on a common stage.
"The initiative aimed to encourage inclusion, creative expression, and interaction among students from diverse social backgrounds," Prashar emphasized. The event served as a practical step towards fostering empathy, understanding, and a sense of community among the young participants.
By combining recognition for artistic contribution with live performances, the Cubs Club program successfully created a space where talent was the primary focus, transcending economic and social barriers. The event in Sector 10 stands as a model for community-driven efforts to promote social cohesion from a young age.
