CBSE Moves to Finalize Candidate List for Second Board Examinations
Under its recently introduced two-board examination system, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is now advancing to the crucial step of finalizing the list of candidates (LOC) who intend to appear for the second board exams. Through an official notification, the board has detailed the schedule for LOC submission and the payment of examination fees, aiming to streamline the process for students across the country.
Examination Fee Payment Schedule and Deadlines
As per the announced schedule, the first phase of examination fee payment will be open from April 16 (around noon) to April 20. During this same window, candidates can also complete their LOC submission and fee payment under the second phase. For those who miss this initial deadline, a final opportunity with late fees will be provided from April 21 to April 22, ensuring flexibility for last-minute registrations.
Key Instructions for Candidates
The board has issued essential guidelines to assist students in navigating this process. Students who wish to appear in the second board examination but could not submit their names during the first phase of LOC can now register and pay the examination fee within the specified timelines. Those who had already submitted their names earlier are required to complete the fee payment within the stipulated period to confirm their participation.
Candidates who no longer wish to appear in the second board examination have the option to withdraw their names, providing an exit route for those who may have changed their plans. Additionally, CBSE has introduced flexibility in subject choices, particularly in mathematics. Students who had opted for mathematics (standard) in the main examination may switch to mathematics (basic) for the second attempt, allowing for tailored academic strategies based on individual performance and preferences.
Streamlining the Two-Board System
This notification is part of CBSE's broader effort to streamline the examination process and ensure that all eligible candidates can avail themselves of the opportunities provided under the two-board system. By clarifying deadlines and offering subject flexibility, the board aims to reduce confusion and support students in achieving their academic goals. The move reflects a responsive approach to educational reforms, prioritizing student convenience and accessibility in the evolving landscape of secondary education in India.
