Desert Districts Claim Top Honors in Rajasthan RAS 2024 Examination

The arid border districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer have emerged as the academic powerhouses of Rajasthan, securing the prestigious top two positions in the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) Exam-2024. The results, officially declared by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on Saturday, have ignited waves of jubilation across these remote desert regions.

First Rank: Dinesh Vishnoi from Barmer District

Dinesh Vishnoi, a resident of Bhalisar village in the Dhorimanna area of Barmer district, clinched the coveted first rank in the state. This remarkable achievement marks a significant leap from his previous performance, where he secured the 57th rank in the RAS-2023 examination. At that time, he was serving as a gram sevak.

Following his success in the 2023 exam, Vishnoi was allocated the RPS cadre and is currently undergoing training in Jaipur. His father, Ramdhan Manju, retired as a District Education Officer, underscoring a family legacy in public service. Dinesh, the youngest among four siblings, has become a source of immense pride for his family and community. Celebrations erupted in his village, with sweets being distributed to mark this historic accomplishment.

Second Rank: Veerendra Charan from Jaisalmer District

Securing the second rank across Rajasthan is Veerendra Charan, hailing from Rampuriya village in the Pokaran Assembly constituency of Jaisalmer district. His achievement has not only brought honor to his family but also to the entire Jaisalmer Police department, where his father serves.

Veerendra's father, Jethoodan Charan, is a head constable currently posted at the Tanot Police Station in Jaisalmer. In an emotional statement, Jethoodan attributed his son's success to unwavering consistency and dedication. He revealed that Veerendra had previously been selected for the post of tehsildar in an earlier examination and is currently undergoing training for that role. Despite this, he continued his rigorous preparation, ultimately securing a place among Rajasthan's top two candidates.

The news of Veerendra's selection and second-rank achievement triggered widespread celebrations in Pokaran, Rampuriya, and Ramgarh, where the family is based. Villagers and community members gathered to congratulate the family, distributing sweets in a traditional display of joy. Veerendra's family, which includes two brothers and one sister, has become a beacon of inspiration for aspiring youth in the region.

Regional Representation and Future Aspirations

The success of candidates from these desert districts highlights the academic potential thriving in Rajasthan's border areas. The top-20 list released by RPSC further reinforces this trend, featuring two additional candidates from Balotra: Bhupendra Singh at the 9th rank and Kailash Kumar at the 13th rank.

This outstanding performance has reportedly fueled anticipation among the youth in Barmer and Jaisalmer, who are now eagerly awaiting new vacancies for the RAS-2026 examination. The achievements of Dinesh Vishnoi and Veerendra Charan serve as powerful testimonials to the possibilities that dedicated preparation and resilience can unlock, even in the most challenging geographical terrains.

The RAS Exam-2024 results have not only rewritten the academic narrative of Rajasthan's desert districts but have also set a new benchmark for excellence in competitive examinations across the state.
