APTET 2025 Results Out: Only 39.3% Pass, Lowest Since 2018
APTET 2025 Results: 39.3% Pass Rate, Lowest Since 2018

The Andhra Pradesh Department of Education announced the results of the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) on Friday, revealing a significant dip in performance. This year's test recorded the lowest pass percentage since 2018, with only 39.3% of candidates clearing the crucial examination for aspiring teachers.

Breaking Down the APTET 2025 Numbers

Out of the 2.48 lakh candidates who sat for the computer-based test, a total of 97,464 managed to qualify. The results are available for candidates to check on the official portal, tet2dsc.apcfss.in. A notable segment of the test-takers were in-service teachers, among whom the performance was relatively better. From 31,886 in-service teachers who appeared, 15,239 qualified, achieving a pass percentage of 47.82% within this cohort.

A Declining Trend in Pass Rates

The 39.3% success rate marks a concerning decline when compared to previous years. Historical data paints a clear picture of this downward trajectory:

  • May 2018: 57.48% pass rate (2,13,042 qualified out of 3,70,636).
  • August 2022: 58.07% pass rate (2,36,535 qualified out of 4,07,329).
  • February 2024: 58.4% pass rate (1,37,903 qualified out of 2,35,907).
  • July 2024: 50.79% pass rate (1,87,256 qualified out of 3,68,661).

The steady fall from nearly 58% to below 40% within a few years will likely prompt a review of preparation standards and examination patterns.

Logistics and Minister's Message

The application process for APTET 2025 was conducted in October 2025, attracting 2,71,692 applications across various categories. To accommodate the large number of candidates, the department set up 133 test centres, including 15 located outside Andhra Pradesh in cities like Hyderabad, Khammam, Chennai, Berhampur, and Bengaluru. A key logistical success was that 97.08% of candidates were allotted their first-choice district for the exam centre, minimising travel hassles.

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh congratulated the successful candidates. "Wishing you all the best in your upcoming endeavours. I am elated to release the results," he stated. The minister also informed that the results can be accessed via the WhatsApp number 9552300009, providing an additional, convenient channel for candidates.

The sharp drop in the APTET pass percentage raises important questions about the current preparedness of teacher aspirants in the state and may influence future training and recruitment strategies for the education department.
