23 Mohali Schools Win National Green School Award, Delhi Ceremony Today
23 Mohali Schools Bag National Green School Award

In a significant recognition of their commitment to the planet, twenty-three schools from Mohali district have been selected for the prestigious National Green School Award. The schools will be honoured at a national-level ceremony in New Delhi on January 30 for their exemplary work in promoting environmental consciousness and sustainable practices.

Celebrating Collective Efforts in Sustainability

The awards are based on the rigorous Green School Audit conducted under the Environment Education Programme of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). This initiative is a collaborative effort with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) in Chandigarh and the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in New Delhi. The audit evaluates schools on multiple parameters including environmental sustainability, conservation of natural resources, efficient waste management, and water and energy efficiency.

Congratulating the winning institutions, District Education Officer (Secondary) Dr Ginni Duggal praised the unified efforts of school principals, teachers, students, and their respective Eco-Clubs. She highlighted their crucial role in adopting green practices and nurturing a deep sense of environmental responsibility among the student community.
