Tamil Nadu Music College Coimbatore Applications Open for 2025

COIMBATORE: The Tamil Nadu Government Music College in Coimbatore has officially invited applications for various music and dance courses for the upcoming academic session. District Collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar announced that application forms are now being issued for a range of programmes, including undergraduate degrees, diplomas, teacher training, and evening certificate courses in both music and dance.

Eligibility and Course Details

Candidates who have successfully completed Class XII are eligible to apply for the three-year undergraduate degree and diploma programmes. These programmes are offered in vocal music, veena, violin, and bharatanatyam. Notably, there is no age limit for these particular courses.

For the diploma programme, the college offers specialisations in vocal, veena, violin, bharatanatyam, nadaswaram, and thavil. Applicants must have passed Class X and should be aged between 16 and 30 years.

Teacher Training and Certificate Courses

The one-year music teacher training course requires candidates to have passed Class X and hold either a BA in Music or an Isai Kalaimani diploma. The age limit for this programme is between 16 and 35 years.

In the evening music college, two-year certificate courses are available in vocal music, veena, and violin. Applicants must have passed Class X, and those above 17 years of age have no upper age limit, making it accessible for older learners.

Fee Structure and Incentives

The annual fees for the courses are as follows: Rs 3,904 for BA Music, Rs 1,530 for diploma and music teacher training, and Rs 1,383 for evening courses. Additionally, students will receive an educational incentive of Rs 1,500 per month and a free bus pass, providing financial support for their studies.
