Sankalp 2026 Concludes at MNNIT Allahabad with Focus on Skills and Innovation
Prayagraj: A comprehensive three-day programme titled 'Sankalp 2026' successfully concluded at the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) in Allahabad on Thursday. The event masterfully integrated skill development, technological innovation, mental well-being, and entrepreneurship, drawing significant participation from students, industry experts, and policymakers.
Event Theme and Collaborative Partners
Organised by the institute's Design Innovation Centre, the programme revolved around the central theme of "Skilling and Nurturing Knowledge for Aatmanirbhar Leadership and Prosperity." This initiative received robust support from multiple partners, including Invest UP as the industry partner, Vigyan Bharati as the knowledge partner, and the Department of Vocational Education and Skill Development as the skill partner. This collaboration underscored a concerted effort to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and governmental policy frameworks, fostering a holistic ecosystem for growth.
Key Sessions on Mental Well-being and Technology
The event featured an interactive talk by Nisha Luthra, co-founder of House of Happiness, who emphasised the critical role of positive thinking and emotional balance in achieving long-term success. She urged attendees to prioritise mental well-being as a fundamental component of personal and professional development, rather than treating it as an afterthought.
Technical deliberations followed, with Manoj Khare from the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in Pune presenting details of the indigenous 'Ganana Project,' highlighting advancements in computational initiatives. Additionally, Nimish Kapoor delivered an extensive presentation on the expanding role of artificial intelligence across various sectors. He noted AI's transformative potential in education, healthcare, agriculture, industry, and governance, stressing its importance for future innovations.
Panel Discussion on Aatmanirbhar Bharat Vision
A panel discussion focused on the role of academic institutions in realising the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat brought together diverse voices from industry and research. Participants included Rajeev Tripathi, Rajiv Rai from Emami Limited, Preet Yadav from NXP Semiconductors, Nikhil Mitalia from Tabor Electronics Limited, Manoj Khare, and Neeraj Gupta from Invest UP. Speakers collectively stressed that students must look beyond academic degrees and align themselves with innovation, research, and social responsibility to contribute effectively to national development.
Entrepreneurship Initiatives and Student Recognition
Shradha Sharma, founder of YourStory, announced the launch of the 'Bharat Project,' aimed at fostering new entrepreneurial opportunities for young innovators. This initiative seeks to empower students to pursue ventures that align with national priorities.
Students who excelled in competitions held during the event were felicitated by the organising team, which included Shivesh Sharma, Arun Prakash, Sunil Yadav, Ramji Dwivedi, Sameer Srivastava, Ambak Rai, Anubhav Rawat, and Joy. Shivesh Sharma remarked that the initiative evolved into a dynamic platform that not only encouraged innovation and leadership but also inspired students to pursue purposeful careers aligned with nation-building objectives.
