Professor Brahmjit Singh has been appointed as the officiating director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra, according to an official statement released on Wednesday. He will assume charge following the completion of the tenure of Dr. Satish Kumar, who served as the director for five years.
The Ministry of Education issued the order for the appointment, which will remain in effect until a regular director is appointed or until further orders. Professor Brahmjit is a distinguished academician with over three decades of experience in teaching and research. He has been associated with NIT Kurukshetra for many years and has held various administrative positions, including head of the department and dean of academic affairs.
His areas of expertise include wireless communication, signal processing, and network security. He has published numerous research papers in reputed journals and conferences and has guided several Ph.D. scholars. The institute community has welcomed his appointment, expressing confidence in his leadership during this transitional period.
NIT Kurukshetra, established in 1963, is one of the premier engineering institutions in India. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields of engineering, technology, and sciences. The officiating director is expected to ensure the smooth functioning of the institute until a permanent director is selected by the board of governors.
