Patna College and SIE Host National Seminar on Indoor Environmental Quality
In a significant academic initiative, Anugrah Narayan College in Patna, in collaboration with the Society for Indoor Environment (SIE), organized a one-day national seminar titled "Indoor Environmental Quality" at the S N Sinha Auditorium on Thursday. This event was designed to unite experts, academicians, researchers, and students to explore challenges and sustainable solutions related to indoor air quality and environmental health, aligning with the multidisciplinary approach of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Seminar Highlights and Key Discussions
The program commenced with traditional ceremonies, including floral tributes and the lighting of the lamp. Principal Prof Rekha Rani delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the day. Seminar convener Prof Tripti Gangwar emphasized the critical relevance of indoor environment studies in today's context, highlighting its impact on public health and sustainability.
Keynote lectures were a focal point of the seminar. SIE president Rakesh Kumar presented on the "Indoor-Outdoor Dilemma," discussing the complex interactions between indoor and outdoor environmental factors. SIE co-founder Priyanka Kulshrestha addressed the integration of environmental science with public health policy, underscoring the need for interdisciplinary approaches to tackle environmental challenges.
Distinguished guests included RK Shukla, director of the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), who contributed valuable insights. A major announcement was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Anugrah Narayan College and SIE, aimed at fostering collaborative research and awareness initiatives on indoor environmental issues.
Research Presentations and Participation
The seminar featured the presentation of sixteen research papers, showcasing innovative studies and findings in the field of indoor environmental quality. Approximately 200 participants attended the event, engaging in discussions and networking opportunities to advance knowledge and solutions.
Carmel High School Conducts Oath-Taking Ceremony for Student Council
In a separate event in Patna, Carmel High School held an enthusiastic and disciplined oath-taking ceremony for its newly elected student council on Thursday. The program began with a prayer session and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing wisdom and guidance.
In her address, principal Sr Mridula stressed the importance of student leadership, urging the council members to perform their duties with honesty and dedication. The newly elected office-bearers, including the head girl, house captains, and council members, were administered the oath of office, pledging to uphold school rules and maintain discipline.
The ceremony also included a thanksgiving song performed by students, adding a cultural touch to the proceedings. Student leader Ashi Singh proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for making the event a success.
