Bhubaneswar witnessed a powerful display of patriotism on Monday. Students from every corner of Odisha came together for a massive, synchronized singing of Vande Mataram. This special event honored the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and celebrated National Youth Day across the state.

A Statewide Chorus of Patriotism

The program saw participation from a staggering number of institutions. More than 16,000 schools, colleges, and universities took part. Over 21 lakh students raised their voices in a unified tribute to the nation. At exactly 11 in the morning, the national song echoed simultaneously from government and private institutions everywhere.

Leadership Emphasizes Youth and Values

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed a gathering at Utkal University later in the day. He spoke about the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda's teachings. Majhi stated that these values form the very foundation for building a strong nation and developing good character in young people.

The Chief Minister outlined the government's focus on youth development. He confirmed that various service programs are being implemented alongside formal education. These initiatives aim to truly empower the youth of Odisha. The schemes cover a wide range of areas including vocational training, skill development, and promoting excellence in sports and cultural activities.

"Today, Odisha is recognized as the 'Sports Capital' of India," Majhi proudly noted, highlighting one outcome of these efforts.

A Historic Moment and a Healthy Mission

Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj also shared his thoughts on the day's significance. He praised the young people of Odisha for demonstrating their capabilities in diverse fields. Suraj pointed to the Fit India Mission, launched by the central government, as a key inspiration. He described it as a nationwide movement encouraging every Indian to adopt a healthier and more successful way of life.

Minister Suraj had special words for the morning's musical tribute. He called the collective rendition of Vande Mataram a 'historic' occasion. According to him, it perfectly reflected the state's profound dedication and unwavering commitment to the country.

Coordinated Efforts for a Grand Event

The successful execution of this large-scale program required collaboration. The event was jointly organized by several key state departments. These included the departments of Culture, School and Mass Education, Higher Education, and Sports. Their combined efforts ensured a smooth and memorable celebration for National Youth Day in Odisha.
