The inaugural annual conclave of the Jharkhand State Faculty Development Academy (JSFDA), established under the department of higher and technical education, was held in Ranchi on Friday. The event placed a strong emphasis on the critical need to integrate teachers with modern educational systems and advanced technology, marking a pivotal step towards educational reform in the state.
Keynote Address and Praise for JSFDA Initiatives
Chief guest and veteran academician P Kandaswamy commended the JSFDA for its swift implementation of development programmes. These initiatives cover essential areas such as gender sensitisation, mental well-being, and linguistic skills. Kandaswamy urged the teaching community to expand these efforts further, aligning student empowerment with the broader national mission of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India).
Leadership Insights on Youth Empowerment and Teacher Roles
Rahul Kumar Purwar, principal secretary and JSFDA chairman, highlighted the significance of Jharkhand's youth as the state's greatest asset. He stressed the imperative to empower them with the right direction and skills. Purwar called on teachers to transcend their traditional roles as mere providers of knowledge, encouraging them to embrace positions as mentors and nation-builders.
Deliberations on NEP 2020 and AI Integration in Classrooms
The conclave featured intensive discussions focused on the roadmap for the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in educational settings. Experts unanimously emphasized that technology should serve as an assistant to human instruction rather than a replacement, ensuring a balanced approach to modernizing education.
Leveraging State Resources for Entrepreneurship and Key Recommendations
Discussions also pivoted towards utilizing Jharkhand's vast biodiversity and mineral wealth to foster entrepreneurship among students and educators. Key recommendations emerged from the conclave, including the strengthening of digital infrastructure, enhancement of research publications, and reinforcement of student counselling systems to support holistic development.
