Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation Inaugurates AI & Digital Lab for 238 Female Students
The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has taken a significant step toward enhancing digital literacy by inaugurating a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and digital laboratory at the Municipal Corporation School in Bhaipura. This pioneering facility is specifically designed to benefit 238 female students, aiming to fortify digital education and introduce them to cutting-edge emerging technologies.
Facility Setup and Corporate Support
Established with corporate social responsibility (CSR) support from Adama India Pvt Ltd, the lab is located at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Saraswati Vidya Mandir. It is comprehensively equipped with 20 modern computers, a large LED screen, and high-speed internet access. This infrastructure is intended to provide students with hands-on experience in basic computer literacy and early exposure to AI tools, fostering a foundation in technology from a young age.
Educational Objectives and Implementation
Officials emphasized that the lab's primary goal is to help students develop essential digital skills. Teachers are being actively encouraged to integrate digital resources into their classroom teaching methodologies and initiate structured computer classes. The initiative targets students from classes 6 to 12, ensuring a wide age range benefits from this technological boost.
A senior GMC official highlighted the critical importance of technology access for young learners, stating, "The initiative was undertaken under the guidance of the municipal commissioner. In today's world, digital skills are no longer optional but essential. Early exposure helps girls build confidence, understand new tools, and prepare for future education and employment opportunities." The official added, "Providing such facilities in municipal schools ensures that students from all socioeconomic backgrounds receive a fair chance to participate in a technology-driven global landscape."
Inauguration Event and Sustainable Display
During the inauguration ceremony, students showcased a creative waste-reuse initiative by displaying a selfie point constructed entirely from recycled materials. This eco-friendly display garnered appreciation from attending officials and visitors, highlighting the school's commitment to sustainability alongside technological advancement.
Broader Impact and Future Plans
The event was attended by school staff, representatives from Adama India Pvt Ltd, and local officials. Authorities revealed that similar digital labs are being introduced in other municipal schools across Ghaziabad to expand access to technology-based learning. They noted that combining traditional classroom education with digital training can significantly improve learning outcomes and encourage greater participation of girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
School authorities confirmed that regular sessions will be meticulously planned in the coming months to familiarize students with computers and various digital applications. This structured approach aims to ensure sustained engagement and skill development, paving the way for a more digitally proficient generation.
