Bengaluru Dental Student Found Dead at Residence

A tragic incident has shaken the educational community in Bengaluru after a young dental student was found dead at her residence. The 23-year-old, identified as Yeshasvini, was a third-year BDS student at a private college in Bommasandra, Anekal.

Discovery of the Tragedy

The grim discovery was made in the early hours of Friday morning at her home in Chandapura. Yeshasvini's mother, Parimala, found her daughter hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom. The police were immediately alerted to the scene.

Authorities confirmed that a death note, written in Kannada, was recovered from the room. The note contained a stark message: "I am responsible for my death." This has led the police to initially investigate the case as a suspected suicide.

Allegations of Harassment Surface

Outside the mortuary, a different narrative began to emerge from those who knew Yeshasvini. Her classmates and some family members claimed that she had been subjected to harassment and mocking by certain teaching staff at her college. They alleged that this persistent mistreatment contributed significantly to her distressed state of mind.

However, in a crucial turn, Yeshasvini's parents have not formally filed any complaint regarding these allegations with the police. The investigating officers have stated that their probe is ongoing and will consider all angles, including the allegations raised by her peers.

A Call for Support and Vigilance

This heartbreaking event casts a spotlight once again on the immense pressures faced by students and the critical importance of mental health support systems within educational institutions. It underscores the need for accessible counseling and robust mechanisms to address grievances.
