AKTU Announces Rs 2 Lakh Funding Initiative for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programs

In a significant move to foster innovation across Uttar Pradesh, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has unveiled a new funding scheme for its affiliated institutions. The university will provide Rs 2 lakh in financial support to colleges and institutes to conduct comprehensive innovation and entrepreneurship programs.

Under the newly launched AKTU Incubator Empowerment Scheme, the university plans to support up to 20 affiliated institutions each financial year. This initiative represents a structured approach to building entrepreneurial capacity throughout the state's technical education ecosystem.

"AKTU is continuously taking strategic steps to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across Uttar Pradesh," stated Vice-Chancellor Prof JP Pandey. "To ensure students from all regions of the state can connect with the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, our innovation hub has decided to provide Rs 2 lakh in funding to affiliated institutions for organizing startup programs under this scheme."

Program Requirements and Application Process

Institutions seeking to conduct startup programs must establish a partnership with AKTU's innovation hub and organize entrepreneurship-focused activities. These include:

  • Startup pitchathons and hackathons
  • Entrepreneurship bootcamps and workshops
  • Startup exhibitions and fairs
  • Events linked to ongoing innovation initiatives

Interested institutions must submit their applications through the innovation hub's official website, where detailed guidelines and eligibility criteria are available.

AKTU's Innovation Ecosystem and Support Structure

The university's innovation hub has been actively building a robust entrepreneurial culture through various initiatives. "Our innovation hub continuously works to cultivate an environment where innovation thrives," explained Prof Pandey. "We organize periodic hackathons to provide promising startups with platforms for growth. A substantial number of startups are already associated with our hub and receive comprehensive support for their development."
